The center crops from the EF 70-200 4L USM and EF 200 2.8L USM are in the same ball park, with the edge going to the prime. However, you can see a big difference in the crops from the left of the frame.

These test shots are typical and, yes, I observed this problem repeatedly in dozens of images from my 10D at all distances, F stops and focal lengths. However, it is most pronounced wide open, racked out to 200mm and focused on near objects. Specifically, focus is fine on the center and right side, but increasing soft towards the left. When focused on near objects, it suffers from "backfocus" on the left side. That is, something a few inches to few feet behind the subject is sharp, but only on the left side. At infinity, everything is blurry on the left.

tak jak mówię, nie jest to tylko moja obserwacja. być może na samolotach efekt ten jest bardziej widoczny, faktem jest, że co najmniej 3 znajomych spod płotu EPWA to potwierdziło (mieli to zresztą wcześniej) a jeden nawet wymienił obiektyw na 100-400 L.

(tylko 30 metrów wynosi GO? to chyba zależy od odległości od obiektu... wychodzą mi całkiem ostre fotki sporych maszyn na 5.0 nawet).
