It has been discovered that when using Battery Grip BG-E2* with EOS 20D/20Da digital SLR cameras, there are cases that, even with fully charged batteries (exclusive battery pack or NiMH AA batteries) or unused Alkaline AA batteries, only few shots can be taken or "bc" is displayed immediately.**
BG-E2 Battery Grips that cause this phenomenon will be repaired free of charge. (Service period until June 2006)

Affected Products
Battery Grip BG-E2
Units with serial numbers up to 096000 marked on the bottom
Phenomenon
Even with a fully charged battery or with unused Alkaline AA size batteries, only few shots can be taken or "bc" may be displayed immediately.
Support
Affected BG-E2 battery grips will be repaired free of charge. Also, those that came with the old BGM-E2 battery magazine will get new replacement magazines.
**Note
Please note that, even the repairs described above have been made, the following phenomena may occur under the following conditions. The products will not be considered as defective in these cases.
- When a BG-E2 grip is attached to the camera with the battery already inside. (In this case, the camera may not check the battery level correctly. Please attach the grip to the camera, and then load the battery.)
- If AA alkaline batteries are used under the temperature below 20°C.
- If the batteries have deteriorated.
- If battery performance is insufficient. (Depending on the brand, performance may be insufficient.)
- When using NiMH AA batteries. (Even if fully charged, there are cases where the camera will not display the battery as full.)
