Calling the 50D the "big brother" to the 10.1-megapixel 40D which was released just over a year ago, Westfall said the older camera would remain on shelves until the end of the year for a list price of $1099, body only. The 50D, which will be available in early October, will sell for $1399 body only, or as a kit with a new 18-200mm IS lens for $1599.
