Not really fluent as to how and why when it comes to this sorta stuff. But there are several video and written reviews out there that agree on initial copies being a little dark and later copies coming out 'hot', or on the bright side. Granger spoke of this, but in his written review, not in any of his videos. A few forum threads also touched on it. My first copy was terribly bright, or hot, to the point where I had to drop a full stop in exposure compensation just to get a nicely exposed image. Now this was just in daylight conditions where my D810 would normally be at ISO 64, 1/800 and above, between f/2.8 and f/4. Indoors and low light, Ii had not issue zeroing out the camera's exposure compensation. Same with the D500! Driving up to Delaware tomorrow to pick my copy up.
