XDepth RAW można otworzyć w każdym programie, który obsługuje pliki JPG i będzie widziany jako JPG, a gdy otworzymy go w programie zgodnym z formatem XDepth RAW to będzie widziany jako RAW.

Pliki Xdepth RAW są skompresowane i zajmują 4 razy mniej miejsca niż zwykły RAW (ok. 200kb/megapixel).

Można zapisać do 72bitów/pixel w HDR, czyli ma jeszcze spory zapas na przyszłe standardy.
Można dodawać do pliku własne dane i łatwo zaimplementować nowe funkcje.
Pliki można przekonwertować do innego formatu, np. Adobe DNG, zapisać jako 16bit TIFF lub 32bit HDR.

Pliki Xdepth RAW są skompresowane i zajmują 4 razy mniej miejsca niż zwykły RAW (ok. 200kb/megapixel).
Tylko czy aby bezstratnie? Wystarczy jeżeli obraz jest skonwertowany do RGB (z mozajki Bayera / mozajki SuperCCD) i już nie jest bezstratnie :)
